The order tickets that you have created in your Portfolio are temporary orders. They are all kept in the tab "Order ticket(s) - waiting to be placed (xx)" of your Portfolio. They are created as a reminder for you so you know what order place at your broker at the end of your trading analysis session.

When you mark them as "placed", The Stock Butler will update the position that you have in your Portfolio " In Order", "In trade" tab and hide your order ticket for you after.

For example, if you create an order ticket to Buy LULU @ $69.55 and you don’t mark the order ticket as "Placed", The Stock Butler will not be able to tell you when you get filled on that order. When you mark an order as "placed" you confirm to The Stock Butler that you have taken this action at your broker and that he should take it into account in his daily analysis.

Another example is when a new low happens in one of your positions that are in the "In Order" or "In Trade" tab. If you don't mark your order ticket as "placed" your Portfolio will not be updated and you will not get the good notification from The Stock Butler because he will not know all the information that he needs to do the daily analysis.

In conclusion, in order to help The Stock Butler to give you the right information at the right time you need to keep him up to date with what you have at your broker. This is done by marking all your orders as "placed" in your "Order ticket - waiting to be placed" Portfolio tab and making sure that all your positions that you have at your broker, In order or In trade, are entered in your Portfolio in the "In order" or "In trade" tab.
