Some traders have asked the question regarding trading outside of regular hours. They found the following options when they are placing their orders:

  1. allow this order to be filled outside of regular trading hours or
  2. allow order to be filled during pre-open session.

Strictly speaking of the technique, the answer is No to both options. You want your order to be executed during the regular trading hours.

I have asked around to give you a clearer answer and this is what I found asking Courtney's team:

The primary reason is that the liquidity is much lower which can provide poorer fills on orders, and for stocks, end of day earnings announcements and the like, can cause huge price differences from those seen during normal market hours.
