The portfolio is made of 6 tabs (you can find the details about them here). These tabs show you different views on your portfolio.

The most interesting one is the “Needing your attention” tab. You will then know what to do with your current position(s). All current position(s) in your PORTFOLIO should be in one of two places; either listed under the “In order” tab (at your broker’s waiting to be filled); or listed under the “In trade” tab (long/owned by you). Please note that the positions that you have in “Order ticket(s) - waiting to be placed” are not considered in the analysis of The Stock Butler because they are not yet at your broker.

The first place to go after logging into The Stock Butler when you have active positions is the “Needing your attention” tab located under the PORTFOLIO tab. This is where the Butler will leave his daily analysis of your portfolio. He will tell you the current status and recommended changes or updates for the stocks in your portfolio. Some possible examples are: When an order should have been filled; When it is time to cancel an order; When it is time to pyramid or When it is time to close a position. And yes, he will tell you when to raise your protective stop, which lowers your risk or locks in profit on a trade!

For each stock a series of messages are shown. The “Signal” column shows what has happened, what to do or what has changed.

The “Before” and “After” columns show the “Before” and “After” result of your taking the suggested action on a particular stock in your PORTFOLIO.

At the end of the line there are several “Action” icons:

  • allows editing of your position details and also to change say, a protective stop if needed.
  • allows you to create an order ticket to apply the suggestion of The Stock Butler for the current position. This will be the more useful icon.
  • allows you to view the complete details of this order.
  •  allows you to go to the stock dashboard and find out if you want to pyramid on the current position.
  •  allows you to sell all or part of your position and take your money to the bank.
  • allows you to remove a position from your portfolio after clicking on “Delete” in a confirmation window.
